The Largest Independent National Mattress Recycler in the UK
(September 14, 2011)It is estimated in the UK we dispose of over 6 million mattresses per year with the figure in the USA exceeding 30 million. With Landfill space at a premium within the UK waste industry, mattresses are now becoming a major problem. Mattresses comprise of standard component parts such us wood, metal, foam (various types), fabrics, plastic, springs, wool, and there can be many more. Whilst some companies boast of recycling mattresses, generally the recovery rate is less than 46%.
At JBS Fibre Recovery they understand how difficult the problem is which is why they have spent over 5 years developing a sustainable solution. Theirr solution is simple, they split each and every component part of each mattress using a combination of our bespoke machinery and our mattress technicians. Each mattress segment is then identified, treated, baled and recycled. The process is thorough and our recycling rates are testament to this, they are currently achieving a 100% recycling rate.
JBS Fibre Recovery are the only independent mattress recycler to offer truly national coverage. With depots covering from Plymouth to Newcastle, JBS Fibre Recovery can offer our sustainable, environmentally friendly, mattress recycling service across the UK. Plus we now have the recycling capacity to divert 1 million mattresses from landfill in 2012 and with a further 5 depots opening over the 12 months, the sky really is the limit.
