Wave Your Flag with Pride for England this World Cup
(June 15, 2010)It has finally kicked off. Only four years wait but here we are at the 2010 world cup. It kicked off with South Africa (the host nation) and Mexico. The result if you don’t already know was a one all draw. Nevertheless, what a great day for South Africa with such a great display of national pride. You can see it in their face, you can see it in the way they hold up the national flag and sing and dance about it. Whatever the result for South Africa this world cup you know the host nation will always be a winner.
There is no better time than the world cup for a nation to come together and stand firm, to support their team and be united in their heart and spirit. The problem is that our home nation, England, has in the last 30 or so years seemed to lose its identity.
This has mainly been down to the politically correct and the naysayers trying to tell us that it is offensive, politically incorrect or in their snooty nosed way they try and say its tacky. But would you say that the South Africans display on Thursday and Friday night was really tacky. No, so if it is all right for one nation why not another. Surely it would be more pollitcally incorrect to oppress a nation and suppress its right to show national pride and wave its flag during a world cup.
